Our Puppy Preschool Program can cover several basics that your puppy should be introduced to as habits in the first 4 weeks of having your new puppy at home. Our #1 goal is to eliminate the worst of your puppy's potty and crate training. Other milestones are introduced using positive methods to teach your puppy to love training and listening to you!
Please be aware that NO puppy is ready for 100% accident proof expectations at 12 weeks old. At this point in your puppy's life, what they ARE ready for is a schedule. And the consistency you have with them will start here with us! All pups but ESPECIALLY our Dachshunds NEED this consistency and will STILL need it after 12 weeks. Our Doodles are *Usually* fully crate trained by 12 weeks old with our methods. There's always a few exceptions/temperaments that prove us wrong and still need time!
Each week your puppy stays with us, we will also be reinforcing Puppy grooming habits like: Bathing, blowdrying with the High Velocity Blow Dryer, Nail Clipping, and occasional trimming around their eyes and their tail.

Puppy stays here with us or one of our in-home trainers for up to 9 additional days after their go home date.
This first week is the HARDEST. We are trying to establish our routine with them, the same routine we will send home with you. Consistency is key, and you will need to continue what we have started.

This second week is still reinforcing good habits, and we are still waking up at 2 am to let your pup out at night. During the day we are establishing our rotating schedule for Potty breaks, supervised play time, and then crate nap time.

This third week is still reinforcing good habits, but we are seeing our hard work come alive! At this point, crying in the crate diminishes almost immediately now, and your puppy is sleeping through the night with no need to get up at 2 am to check on them.

Puppy stays here with us or one of our in-home trainers for up to 30 additional days after their go home date.
This last week will include a second vet check and their next booster shots. We also introduce your pup to the harness and leash as they prepare to go to your home.
Our Puppy Preschool Program is a schedule for your pup, and a routine that they desperately need. Please keep in mind that puppies are "situational learners"...This means they are getting used to the routine that OUR home is establishing. They get used to where we have their crate, what door we are using for the potty breaks, and where we are feeding them every day.. There is usually going to be some "revert" for the first few days when they leave our home and are introduced to YOUR home. But if you immediately set up your boundaries and routine, if will take them just a few days to remember what we were establishing!
